Meet the Unit Heads and Area Directors for the Summer of 2018!

Adalee Chaffee is from St Louis and cannot wait to start her first summer on the peninsula as the Arts & Crafts Director. She received her BA in Psychology and Art from Southeast Missouri State and her Masters in Counseling and Art Therapy from Southwestern College. Adalee has a profound love for Pokemon and NeoPets!  She can’t wait to meet such a diverse group of individuals.

Known by many as “Brez,” Ben Reznikov will be Almagor’s Unit Head for his first summer at Camp Sabra. He is from St Louis and attended Loyola University-Chicago, majoring in Psychology and is a semester away from finishing his Masters of Counseling from Lindenwood University. Ben is incredibly excited to make new friends and is pumped to take the Almagor boys on their river trip.

Hannah Lerner is ready to take on the responsibilities of Video Director for her 10th summer at Sabra. She is from Dallas, Texas, and recently graduated from UT Austin with a degree in Kinesiology. Hannah’s favorite thing about camp is dancing in the dining hall, meeting new people and getting to be weird all summer.

John Randall is more than excited to spend his second summer in a row at Camp Sabra as the Camp Photographer! He is from St Louis, where he attends St Louis Community College, and works part-time as a real estate photographer and BBYO Chapter Advisor. John’s favorite thing about camp is the people, and he cannot wait to meet new campers this summer.

Living in places such as Hungary, Germany, and Israel, Kezia Valyi is ready to start her first year at Camp Sabra and bring her diverse background to the role of Judaics Director. She went to school at ELTE in Budapest, Hungary, where she majored in Biology. She enjoys hiking, traveling, and learning about other cultures, and can’t wait to meet a lot of amazing people and participate in camp Shabbat services.

Mina Fedderly, a certified yoga instructor, is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is ecstatic to spend her first summer at Sabra as the Camp Programmer. She attends Bradley University, majoring in Community Wellness and minoring in Health, Management and Leadership. Mina can’t wait to implement new programs for the staff and campers.

Rachel Berwald will spend her 11th summer at Camp Sabra as the Sharone Unit Head. She is going into her senior year at Tulane, majoring in international relations.  She plays the viola and sings in a Jewish a capella named NJBeats. Rachel loves the incredible support network and the friends she has made from Sabra. Her greatest accomplishment was studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Phillip Cramer can’t wait to return to Sabra for his 12th summer as the Landsports Director. He is from Dallas, and attended Arizona State University and received a BA in Business Law and a BS in Supply Chain Management. Phillip’s favorite thing about camp is being able to disconnect from all the madness of the real world and get some fresh air. He hopes that everyone he gets to work with learns more about their own abilities and improves their abilities to encourage others.

Alaina O’Brien is back for her second summer at Camp Sabra and is excited to take over Drama! Originally from Michigan, she stayed in-state to attend Northern Michigan University, and she loves reading, singing, crafts and writing. Alaina’s favorite thing about camp is the sense of community and cooperation among the staff and campers here, and loves spending her free time at the Swim Dock.

Carson McGill is overjoyed to come back to Camp Sabra for his 5th summer as the Younger Habonim Unit Head. Originally from Dallas, Carson now lives in St Louis, where he enjoys playing soccer, listening to music, trivia, and using his scuba diving skills! He went to the University of Arkansas, where he studied Vocal Music Performance and Pre-Law. Carson is most excited to take his kids on their river trips and continue to make memories.

Jeanne Wilkinson is so excited to be the Older Habonim Unit Head for her 8th summer at Camp Sabra. She is from St Louis, and is a senior at Rhodes College where she studies Elementary Education. Other than working with kids, she loves to bake, and is most excited to be at camp to spend time outdoors.

Josh Mannis prefers his spaghetti in a taco shell (and so will your camper soon!!!)  He is returning as the Songleader for his 10th summer at Sabra. He loves to play guitar, golf and watch superhero movies.  He is currently studying Marketing at Indiana University. Josh loves coming to camp to provide meaningful and impactful experiences for campers, just like his staff did for him as a camper.

Coming up from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Lauren Hirsch can’t wait to spend time at the ropes course as the Ropes Director. This is Lauren’s first summer at Sabra, and she just graduated from Tulane University with a degree in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology. Lauren loves biking, singing, playing the piano and volunteering at local animal rescue shelters in her free time.

Natalie Dicker is pumped and ready to spend her 10th summer at Camp Sabra as the Pool Director. She is from St Louis and is currently a senior at the University of Missouri studying Elementary Education. Natalie loves to watch Netflix, work out and shop, and she loves coming back to camp because of all the friends she has made over the years.

Rosie Weber can’t wait to take on the role as one of the Tripping Directors for her 12th summer at camp. She is originally from St Louis, and attends Ball State University where she is a nursing major. Rosie took a gap year after high school to study abroad in Israel, and her favorite thing about camp is seeing all of her friends that she doesn’t get to see during the school year.

Josh Ellis has been coming to Camp Sabra since 1999, and after a brief hiatus, he is more than excited to return for his 17th summer as the Golan Unit Head. He received a BS in Geology from the University of Tennessee, and just graduated from the University of Missouri with his MBA. Josh hopes to have a great summer surrounded by a supportive Jewish community, and he wants himself and his campers to gain a greater appreciation for living Jewishly in daily life.

​Returning for his 11th summer on the peninsula, Alec Baris can’t wait to get started as the Media Director. He is from St Louis, and attends the University of Missouri, majoring in Communications. In his free time, Alec loves to exercise and play or watch sports. Alec’s favorite part about camp is the process of rekindling old friendships, as well as making brand new ones, every single summer.

Corey Fox is back for his 14th summer at Sabra as the Logistics Director! He is from St Louis, and attends the University of Missouri where he studies Personal Financial Planning. Corey loves coming to the Lake of the Ozarks even when camp isn’t happening.  Besides being psyched to start this new position this summer, he is looking forward to returning to camp for the friendships he has made in the past, and to make so many more this year.

Jill Babb is overjoyed to return for her 2nd summer at camp as the Office Manager. She attended Southeast Missouri State University, as well as Western Illinois, where she majored in Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration. Jill grew up in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, but currently lives in Rome, Georgia, where she works for a boarding school. Her favorite thing about camp is celebrating the 4th of July on the lake.

JP Finn is back for his third summer at Camp Sabra and his taking his talents to the water as the new Ski Director. He hails from Chicago and is a senior at the University of Missouri, where he majors in Health Sciences. When he’s not playing sports, JP’s greatest accomplishment is when he can achieve the perfect milk-to-cereal ratio. JP’s favorite thing about Camp Sabra is making new friends, as well as reconnecting with old ones.

Maya Sederholm will spend her first summer at Camp Sabra as one of the Tripping Directors. She is originally from Houston, Texas, and attended the University of Arizona, where she earned a BFA in Dance, a BS in Ecology, and a MS in Environmental Microbiology. Not only is she diverse in her studies, but Maya enjoys yoga, swimming, movies and reading, and she is most excited for the river trips and water activities.

Niki Nesnidal can’t wait to get started as the Swim Dock Director for her first summer at camp. She is from River Forest, Illinois, and is a Psychology Pre-Med student at the University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign. Niki loves volleyball, snowboarding and long walks on the beach, and she is excited to be a part of the Sabra Family and get to know a lot of people.

Sydney Aaranson, otherwise known as Squidney, is returning to Camp Sabra for her 11th year as the Ayelet Unit Head! She just graduated from the University of Kansas, where she studied Graphic Design, and loves to dance, hike, ski and swim. She is can’t wait to participate in Shabbat Players and cheer one last time before she moves to New Zealand in the fall.

Emily Scholten is returning for 13th summer at Camp Sabra and her 2nd summer in a row as Masada Unit Head.​ She just graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Social Work, and she loves to rock climb, listen to music, and go on runs. Her favorite thing about Sabra is that you can be yourself here and everyone will embrace you, and she can't wait to learn from her campers and soak up all the beauty in Colorado.
